Optimization Methods for Redundancy Allocation in Hybrid Structure Large Binary Systems

This paper addresses the issue of optimal redundancy allocation in hybrid structure large binary systems. Two aspects optimization are considered: (1) maximizing reliability system under cost constraint, and (2) obtaining necessary at a minimum cost. The complex considered this work is composed many subsystems with redundant structure. To cover most cases encountered practice, following kinds active redundancy, passive standby hot or warm reserve possibly other cold ones, triple modular (TMR) control facilities spare components, static redundancy: 5-modular (5MR), TMR/Simplex TMR/Duplex redundancy. A classic evolutionary algorithm highlights complexity problem. master problem, two fundamentally different methods proposed: an improved zero-one integer programming formulation. speed up search process, lower bound determined first. difficulty these problems for systems and, based on numerical results, shows effectiveness programming.
